A New Year, and a new Moree on a Plate president!

A New Year, and a new Moree on a Plate president - and one who needs no introduction! The committee is thrilled to welcome Bethany Kelly back into the role of MOP President, a position she held for a number of years until 2019. Bethany has been instrumental in the success of MOP - we are so grateful to be able to leverage her skills as Deputy Principal of the Moree Secondary College - Bethany is whip quick organising and delegating tasks, and runs a very tight ship - perfect for organising a major event such as MOP.

Bethany Kelly has resumed the role of Moree on a Plate President for 2022

As a role model to many students in the community, Bethany said she was inspired to resume presidency to help showcase the importance of volunteering and community spirit amongst local youth, to help build on and continue a strong culture of contribution within our town. She is also genuinely excited by the growth of the festival in recent years, and its potential as a major tourism vehicle to help benefit our town.

More than anything, however, Bethany said she's looking forward to providing Moree with a fun, social and positive day out that locals can enjoy and be proud of. To outgoing president Chloe Rees-Smith, the committee extended a heartfelt thank you for an enormous contribution.

"You steered us through two years of upheaval, and managed to deliver a hugely successful festival in 2021 amongst a backdrop of uncertainty and regulations."

"As our youngest every president you led our festival with a maturity and confidence well beyond your years - and all whilst navigating planning your own wedding during the disruption."

"Thank you and congratulations Chloe - you managed to pull of not only a major event, but also get married in 2021 - and neither were an easy feat!"

Bethany also thanked the new committee members welcomed at the AGM, and said new members were always welcomed.

Outgoing President, Chloe Rees-Smith

"Now save the date - Saturday, May 7, 2022 - we're already busy planning!"
